On November 22, 2024, the VIROFIGHT Symposium brought together scientific experts in antiviral biologics to present the results and achievements of our VIROFIGHT project. Held in a hybrid format at the Science Congress Center in Garching, the event featured over 50 participants and two main sessions: “VIROFIGHT Results and Achievements” and “Pathways to Novel Antiviral Treatments.”
The symposium highlighted innovative antiviral strategies off the beaten paths, including virus-neutralizing nano-shells, DNA origami, protein minibinders and neutralization assays. Further the Symposium features four external guest speakers:
- Prof Maartje Basting from EPFL talked about “Super-Selective Biomaterials in Action – Balancing geometry and rigidity at the biointerface”
- Dr. Alba Monferrer, CPTx, Head of preclinical development and PMO talked abouut CPTx’s “Pathogen-Agnostic Viral Countermeasure Platform”
- Prof Rainer Haag, FU Berlin talked about “„Supramolecular Nanosystems for the Inhibition of Viruses”
- Prof Emma Chory with her talk on “Navigating the Evolution Multiverse: Decoding Path Decisions of Affinity and Specificity”
Attendees engaged in discussions, networking opportunities, and interactive Q&A sessions, fostering further collaboration.
Recordings of the VIROFIGHT results and achievements will soon be available.
